Why We Speak?

why do we speak
why do we talk
how is it possible
for us to say our thoughts

why do we speak
even our mouth and head
is full and overflowing
yet drained and dry and rough

are we just speaking
because we wanted to convey
a message of sorrow and agony
words of emotions and pain

do we know the greatness
of speaking, tunes, and sounds
or what we just know
a thing drowned in doubt

does speaking requires
a melody or a tune
is it possible to count
silence to be part of it all

but what we must understand
from the depths of words a frown
that the surface we knew 'bout speaking
is more than we knew about

we speak not only
because we wanted so
but because beauty prevails
and it a need for it to flow

we speak not only
because our minds are in doubt
but because we are human
feelings are in and out

we speak for our emotions
we speak to be unchained
we speak with silence and sorrow
we speak as if we're always in vain
